The guitarist and composer Angelo da Silva was born in Brazil. At 14, he discovered his love for the guitar and started to learn flamenco guitar in addition to classical training. Already at the age of 16 years he began to teach himself guitar. From 1999 onwards, after years of study numerous solo concerts and performances throughout Brazil followed.

In 2005 he produced the album “Notas por Gostar” with interpretations of Brazilian music and European classical music. In 2006 and 2008 followed the first two albums with his own compositions, “Meu Violao” and “Lembranças do Passado”. In 2010 Angelo da Silva went to Europe to expand his musical repertoire and produced in the same year the album “Ich bin eine Frage”. This was followed by solo concerts, the album “Surpresa para Mim” in 2012, as well as projects with musicians from different genres in Austria, Germany and France.

Together with Katja Greco, Angelo da Silva began in 2012 with the “Musiksalon”. This was a project in which the musicians invite a selected audience to a concert in a private setting – a tribute to the tradition of Viennese domestic music at home with high musical standards. Hence the idea of the concert series “Playing Together” emerged for his students. Music afternoons or evenings where Angelo da Silva performs for and with his students and they play their own concert in front of the audience.

In 2013 he began to write a selection of his own compositions for string orchestra and founded in 2014 NOVUM ENSEMBLE consisting of cello, violin, viola, double bass and the guitar, as the center of the musical work.

Da Silva’s extensive repertoire ranges from the “Musica popular Brasileira” over to Brazilian Choro, Bossa Nova, Waltz and classics to masterful compositions of his own. Angelo da Silva is presenting at his concert evenings a varied cross-section of his repertoire and proves himself as a superb instrumentalist as well as a musician full of intuition and persuasion.

Der Gitarrist und Komponist Angelo da Silva ist gebürtiger Brasilianer. Mit 14 Jahren entdeckte er seine Liebe zur Gitarre und begann neben der klassischen Ausbildung Flamenco-Gitarre zu lernen. Bereits mit 16 Jahren begann er selbst Gitarre zu unterrichten. Nach jahrelangem Studium folgten ab 1999 zahlreiche Solokonzerte sowie Auftritte in ganz Brasilien.

2005 produzierte er das Album “ Notas por gostar” mit Interpretationen brasilianischer Musik und europäischer Klassik. 2006 und 2008 folgten die ersten beiden Alben mit Eigenkompositionen, “Meu Violao” und “Lembrancas do Passado”. 2010 ging Angelo da Silva nach Europa, um sein musikalisches Repertoire zu erweitern und produzierte noch im selben Jahr das Album “Ich bin eine Frage”. Es folgten Solokonzerte, das Album „Surpresa para mim“ 2012, sowie Projekte mit Musikern verschiedenster Genres in Österreich, Deutschland und Frankreich.

Zusammen mit Katja Greco begann Angelo da Silva 2012 mit dem “Musiksalon”. Ein Projekt bei dem die Musiker ein ausgewähltes Publikum zu einem Konzert in privatem Rahmen laden – eine Hommage an die Tradition der Hausmusik mit hohem musikalischem Anspruch. Daraus entstand auch die Idee der Konzertreihe “Zusammen Spielen” für seine Schüler. Musiknachmittage oder Abende bei denen Angelo da Silva für/mit seinen Schülern spielt und diese ihr eigenes Konzert vor Publikum vortragen.

2013 begann er eine Auswahl seiner Eigenkompositionen für Streichorchester zu schreiben und gründete 2014 das NOVUM ENSEMBLE – bestehend aus Cello, Geige, Bratsche, Kontrabass und der Gitarre, als Zentrum des Werkes.

Da Silvas umfangreiches Repertoire reicht von der “Musica popular brasileira” über brasilianischen Choro, Bossa Nova,Walzer und Klassik bis zu virtuosen Eigenkompositionen. Angelo da Silva präsentiert an seinen Konzertabenden einen abwechslungsreichen Querschnitt seines Repertoires und beweist sich dabei als hervorragender Instrumentalist wie auch als Musiker voller Intuition und Überzeugungskraft.
